Opening Day Speeches by dignitaries including Steve Rotheram, Lord Mayor Of Liverpool (left) 

Dancers, aerial acrobatics, clowns, stilt walkers and a variety of entertainment delighted the crowds on the Liverpool ONE opening day 29/5/2008.

The reason for producing two images of the same photograph below is because I wanted to emphasize the height of the stilt walker by including other elements that were smaller, in the second image I have cloned/created my own plain background without distraction.

Liverpool’s African Festival was photographed in 2008, Liverpool’s Year As European Capital Of Culture. The festival was an “Explosion” of music and vibrant colours,

In 2023 I “revamped” these images, by darkening the background to make the colourfull African clothes worn by the performers stand out further.

The event is very popular providing me with the ideal opportunity to raise awareness for Blood Cancer UK
