Author Karen Johnson poses for “Pretty Woman And Liverpool
III” a project used to raise awareness for #Bloodwise_uk.
Locations used were Albert Dock And Kings Dock in
Liverpool.
Backdrops included Liverpool Echo Arena near by wheel and the surrounding features.
Pretty Woman And Liverpool III
The objective of “Pretty Woman And Liverpool III”, is to
raise awareness for the charity #Bloodwise_uk, formerly known as Leukaemia And
Lymphoma Research through “tagging” on social media.
I wanted to depict how women in Liverpool “dress to
impress”, and have them posed alongside an iconic landmarks, therefore adding
culture sophistication and glamour to the picture.
My continued “Pretty Woman” projects have taught me more
about composing two subjects in images
were both background and model have equal prominence and the importance of
teamwork between model and photographer, adding a new dimension to my work.
The models, dancers and singers who I have photographed have
posed voluntary for me, make up artists have also volunteered to help, venues
have not charged for use of premises.
The girls who I have photographed have often booked time of
work to attend shoots.
They have added life to my photography and have been an
inspiration to me.

Blood Cancer
is the 3rd biggest cancer killer in the UK claiming more lives than breast
cancer or prostate cancer. 14000 people loose their lives to blood cancer and
related disorders every year in the UK. That's 38 people every day.
It's also the fifth most
common cancer: there are 230,000 people living with blood cancer in the UK and 38,000
people are diagnosed each year – that's one person every 14 minutes.

Photographing a model posed alongside well known landmarks
such as Liverpool Echo Arena and the Echo Arena Wheel.
I want to raise more awareness for a charity called
#Bloodwise_uk each time a model is “tagged” in my work through Social Media
more awareness is raised.
The model in these pictures is Toni Waterson who has also agreed
voluntary to become the Face Of My Work.
About The Photographer
I have suffered a rare and deadly form of Leukaemia twice
(now in remission).
I have lived with Multiple Sclerosis since 2001. I have a
chaperone who drives me to the destination of each assignment and cares for me
when taking pictures and helps up equipment. I use my wheelchair on
assignments.
Name Of Model & Good Rapport
Toni Waterson
I have known Toni since October 2013, the first assignment
was at the Bluecoat Chambers building, now 18 shoots later (this shoot number
19) we have established good professional rapport. Toni is a fantastic model
and dancer who produces great poses and brings emotional impact to the shoot as
well, shown particularly in closer head shots (fourth shot down in this link http://liverfocus.blogspot.co.uk/2016/05/toni-waterson-sefton-park-palm-house.html). #top_babe
